In the run up to the referendum on the UK’s continued membership of the European Union (EU) on 23rd June 2016, The Democratic Society created the ‘EU Decide‘ website to give voters accessible and impartial information about the EU.
This included an introduction to the EU, an explanation of the different institutions, and an outline of some of the work the EU does from a UK perspective. There were also videos from key figures on both sides of the debate, and links to further discussion and sources of further information from both sides.
The creation of this resource was funded by the Catherine Bearder MEP – with The Democratic Society retaining editorial control over creating impartial content inline with her requirements for information outlining what the EU does. We also advertised for funding from other sources.
With the referendum coming to an end, the site is no longer live.
